1. Amazon Go Opens In Seattle

The future of retail has officially landed in Seattle.  Amazon announced this week their first check out free brick and mortar store is up and running. Consumers can purchase snacks, drinks, and some prepared meal items from their onsite chefs. The store is guarded by what look like subway gates. Shoppers must download the Amazon Go app to enter and make purchases.

2. Copyblogger Gave Some Solid SEO Advice

Experts say voice searching will prevail in 2018 with gadgets like Amazon Alexa and Google Home. This article will get you thinking about the ways we’ve traditionally approached search engine optimization and how we’ll have to adapt in the future.

3.  Skittles Is Taking Personalized Marketing To The Next Level

Super Bowl LII is just around the corner and brand’s are getting ready to show us what they’ve got. Skittles is taking a unique approach this year. Essentially, they plan to show their ad to just one teenage fan and live stream his reaction on Facebook. The company is putting some major trust in this one random kid from California. This could go one of two ways: His reaction could be hilarious and everyone will love it, or he could just blank stare at the camera and everyone will feel very awkward for Skittles. Either way, we’ll be tuning in.

4. Stuck? Heres’s 3 Tricks To Cultivate Creativity 

Creativity is often elusive but not impossible to cultivate. Inc broke it down for us in this great article on creativity as a mindset. It’s not as simple as being a creative person or not being creative person. Creativity is something you can cultivate in your day to day life!

5. This interview With Mitch Joel

Mitch Joel, President of digital agency Mirium, did an interview on The Marketing Companion Podcast and it was fantastic. Joel is a seasoned digital marketing veteran and writer with years of experience in the industry.

6. Quality of Content Over Quantity Of Content
There are certain SEO metrics that marketers never seem to stop talking about. Some of which include website traffic, conversion rate, and bounce rate. Tipping Point Labs released this interesting article that will have you rethinking everything you think you know about traffic. The author argues that their site traffic has been significantly decreasing but their sales has been increasing. How could this be you ask??  Simple, the quality of what they post is now much higher but that means the quantity with which they post has decreased.  It’s worth a read!

 

7. WhatsApp Just Released Their New App For Small Business

WhatsApp is a popular free text and voice messaging app. This app has been popular with people traveling overseas that don’t have access to their cellphone plans while they’re away. The app allows users to easily stay in touch with loved ones and co workers. The company upped their game this week by releasing WhatsApp Business for Android. The new app allows small businesses to easily manage their business page and interact with customers.

9. YouTube Is Changing Their Monetization Requirements

YoutTubers are scrambling this week over the company’s recent announcement to change their monetization requirements for their Partner Program. Essentially, YouTube is upping the amount of views a creator must have accrued in the last year in order to remain eligible for the program. HubSpot argues that YouTube is making these changes in light of Facebook’s recent algorithm changes.

10. Tips On How To Scale Lead Generation Through Blogging

Turning your blog into actual leads is no easy feat, but it’s not impossible. QuickSprout wrote an article outlining how to do just that.  It’s worth a read if you’re stuck. There’s some great infographics as well as very tangible tips on what you can do to make sure your blog is yielding you the results you want to see.
