This was the week of snowball fights, grandmas trying to use AI, and a drone flying Santa. What a week!

Our favorite reoccurring commercial character Mayhem is back! Allstate released a New Year’s resolutions ad this week. The tag line? “Resolutions are made to be broken.” Why does Allstate want us all to break our resolutions and get fat?
2. Uh Oh. Apple’s In Trouble
Apple admitted earlier this week to intentionally slowing down older iPhones, specifically the iPhone 6 or later. Customers complained that when they updated their devices’ operating system their phones slowed down to the point of almost not being usable. The company issued a formal apology and is offering battery replacements at almost 40% off. Yikes.
3. Niagra Falls Became The Real Life Set Of Frozen
It’s been insanely cold in many parts of the country this week. On the east coast temperatures dropped into the single digits. Visitors flocked to see the magical wintry wonderland that is Niagra Falls State Park completely covered in ice.

Hope you weren’t wanting to name your next business venture Sean Connery. The Scottish actor trademarked his name to prevent people from profiting off of his brand. Fine.
6. Google Home Isn’t For Everyone
Someone gave their sweet 85 year old Italian grandmother a Google Home. Thanks for reminding us not everyone is ready for artificial intelligence. Someone get this lady the weather channel app!
7. Jet Blue Is Giving Away Tickets for $20
If you’re always glued to your Kayak app trying to score the cheapest flight, Jet Blue has changed the game…by creating one. The airline released a board game called Get Packing that includes a roundtrip airfare coupon for only $20. Needless to say, the game sold out online in seconds.
8. We See You Samsung, Well Done
Samsung turned an abandoned mall in Milwaukee into a magical Christmas wonderland for children at the Boys and Girls Club. If this isn’t what childhood Christmas dreams are made of then I don’t know what is. I see you Samsung. Well done.
9. Spoiler Alert, It Wasn’t Aliens
LA residents briefly freaked out over aliens. Turns out it was just Elon Musk trolling people and testing his fancy new SpaceX Falcon rocket. This thing is crazy!
10. Papa Johns Pizza Is In The Market For A New CEO
Lil Jon reminded us you can do anything you set your mind to kids. The rapper and producer made an announcement via Twitter that he wants to be the new CEO of Papa Johns Pizza. Okaaaaay!
